Thank you for visiting the website for San Gabriel PTA. We hope to share news about the activities, events, and our work on behalf of the students and families at San Gabriel Elementary School in Atascadero, CA. The activities and programs that our PTA directly supports through fundraising and/or volunteers include:

There are many ways that you can help. Please consider attending a PTA meeting, volunteering your time, providing goods or services, or making a donation to San Gabriel PTA. We are completely volunteer-run and appreciate any support. So please look around, contact us, and check back often for updates.

Colony Days Parade -SG Entry, Oct 21 2017

Please join the  San Gabriel PTA as we walk in the Annual Colony Day parade. All Gator students, families, and staff are encouraged to participate in this wonderful community event. Wear your Gator green and be a part of a great event.

All For Books Oct 30-Nov 3, 2017

Get ready to celebrate the love of reading with our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair! We will have many fun reading activities and events planned for your child throughout this event. We hope you can join us by visiting the Book Fair with your student between November 6th thru November 14th.  Just in time for the holidays!!

This year, one of our Book Fair goals is to ensure as many children as possible receive books and have access to books. One of the ways we can do that is through the All for Books program. With your help, donations will purchase more books for our teachers reading incentive programs and classroom libraries.

Coin-A-Day Challenge
October 30th-November 3th

  • Penny Monday 
  • Nickel Tuesday
  • Dime Wednesday 
  • Quarter Thursday
  • Any Coin Friday 

Our school is participating in a classroom-level coin drive called the Coin-A-Day Challenge Oct 30th-Nov. 3th. Each day represents a different type of coin. The classroom that collects the highest overall total will receive a prize!!

If you have loose coins hiding under couch cushions, floor mats, in pants pockets, or the bottom of your bag, put them to good use by giving our students more access to books they’ll want to read!

As if that wasn't enough…even better and cooler:
Not only does your donation help our cause, but Scholastic Book Fairs® will match monetary donations with a donation of up to one million dollars in books from The Scholastic Possible Fund, which distributes books to children in need through organizations such as Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. and Kids In Need Foundation.

Start collecting those coins!!!!!

The Fall Book Fair is coming!! 

When: November 6th thru November 14th

Where: The Cafeteria

Time:  Monday 11-6-Thursday 11-9: 

Before School: 7:50-8:10 & After School: 2:45-4:00

Monday 11-13 and Tuesday 11-14:  

Before School: 7:50-8:10 & After School: 1:15-4:00


Cool Events:

Wednesday, November 8th from 12:10-1:00 pm 

KISS Event:

Wednesday, November 8th from 11:30-1:00 pm 


Battle of the Books: 

Students will receive a “5 Scholastic Dollars” for every battle book turned in at the book fair. Scholastic dollars can be used during the book fair towards the purchase of any item.  There is no limit on the number of battle books turned in!! The Battle Books collected will be given back to 4-6 grade teachers to use in their classrooms! Bring Battle Books to the cashier at the fair!! Cool!!

It's the beginning of the school year!  Let's treat our amazing San Gabriel teachers and staff with a wonderful, well-deserved lunch for all of their hard work and dedication to our students and school. Our next "Staff Treat Day" is Wednesday, September 13th.  Please sign up for what you can contribute below and drop off your items in the Staff Lounge between 8 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on the 13th.  Thank you parents!!

** Please remember we have over 80 staff members at our fabulous school.  I've split everything up, but please bring enough for 20-30 people.

Design your entry to connect with track and field meet activities

*Atascadero High School Track
*All ages-Preschool through senior citizens
*All track and field events
*Entries must be turned into school office by Friday, May 19th, 2017

Winners will be announced in June

Grand Champion Artis will receive: J's Burgers $50 gift certificate and art will be printed on the meet t-shirts.

Two winners for EACH school will each receive: J's Burgers $10 gift certificate and their art will be printed in the program.

24th District PTA Battle of the Books - June 10, 2017

We have some GREAT NEWS about an activity for ALL 3rd-6th grade students.  The Twenty-Fourth District PTA is hosting a countywide competition for Battle of the Books!  The event is FREE and will take place on Saturday, June 10, 2017 beginning at 9 am.  If you are not familiar with Battle of the Books, details about this fun competition can be found at the Battle of the Books website.
Registration is now open and will run through May 31 or until 200 students have registered (whichever comes first).  Visit www.24thpta.org or follow this link to register your student:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BattleOfTheBooks2017
To qualify, students must
  • be a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade student
  • be a resident of San Luis Obispo County
  • attend a public or private school or be home-schooled within SLO County
  • have read at least five (5) books* on the Battle Book List 2017  (If your school is holding a Battle, our list should match yours.)
This fun day for students includes breakfast, lunch, and a chance to win some fun prizes, including tickets to SLO Blues Baseball games, the Santa Barbara Zoo, the Great American Melodrama, and Hearst Castle.  Don't miss out on this awesome, FREE event!  Register your student today and be sure to tell your friends!
