Help Santa Rosa Families with Books!

posted Nov 7, 2017, 8:23 PM by Jodie Cohen - webmaster   [ updated Nov 7, 2017, 9:05 PM ]

Showing we care with the Gift of a Book!
When asked to create a Wish List for the Book Fair, one teacher asked if it would be possible to
create a donation list instead. She reached out to the school district in the city of Santa Rosa
where the fires destroyed so many homes! Twenty five elementary school children, students at
the Bennett Valley Elementary Union School District, lost their homes…everything!!
It would be so nice if our students and families would be willing to help purchase a new book
for each of those 25 children. If you would like to help with this cause, please ask one of the
cashiers at the book fair. They have a list of the grade level and gender of these children and
can help you find an appropriate book that they would love. Book marks and little stickers for
well wishes will be sent with each book to each child. If you would rather make a small donation
toward the purchase of a book, that would be wonderful and welcomed also! Again, see our
cashiers and we can find something for each student.
We believe a little gift in the form of a book might bring a smile and a little joy to these children
in the wake of such sadness!! We will be sending the new books by the end of November.
Thank you so much for your generosity and opening your hearts!!
We know these children will be thrilled!

Book Fair is open before and after school this week and Monday and Tuesday next week.
Other cool events this week at the book fair:

Battle Books: the entire list is available for purchase this year!!! come get your battle books!!

Teacher Wishes: We have teacher lists of classroom wishes if you want to purchase a book for
your teacher! Lists are available at the cashier. Please let the cashier know if you purchase a
book from the teacher wish list!! Thank you!!
