19th Annual San Gabriel Battle of the Books, Thursday, May 5th, 2016 9am-2:30pm

Battle of the Books letter, sent home March 23, 2016:

The Battle takes place at San Gabriel.  To qualify, students are required to read a set number of books from the Battle list.  

The requirements are:
4th grade - 10 books
5th grade - 12 books
6th grade - 15 books

Students must complete their reading and any teacher required assignments by Friday, April 22nd.  Please check with your student to see how they are progressing.  The more students we have participate, the more fun the day is!

The Battle will be a fun filled day with continual mini-tournaments, snacks, lunch, prizes and a final "Battle".  Your child may participate if he or she has read the required number of books from this year's "Battle of the Books" list.

This year we are pleased to announce that t-shirts may once again be ordered for Battle participants.  Having the t-shirts definitely adds to the festive atmosphere and excitement.  If you would like to order a t-shirt for your child, please send in the attached form and $9.00 by Friday, April 8th.  Check should be made out to AUSD.

We need parent 25-30 volunteers on the day of the Battle to help us out with setting up, tournaments, and lunch.  Please let us know if you can help us out on that day!  Parents will need to arrive at 8:15 for a brief Battle instructions meeting.  If you would like to help out, and have Megan's Law clearance with the office, please return the bottom portion of this form.
